Key Territores Locked in for FRANKENSTEIN‘S ARMY
SEVERAL KEY TERRITORIES LOCKED IN FOR FRANKENSTEIN’S ARMY AT 2013 EUROPEAN FILM MARKET
Berlin (February 8, 2013) - MPI Media Group today announced that it has closed additional major territories for writer-director Richard Raaphorst’s FRANKENSTEIN’S ARMY. The highly anticipated film, which is having its market premiere at the 2013 European Film Market, is a co-production of MPI/Dark Sky Films, Los Angeles-based XYZ Films and Pellicola of Amsterdam.
A multi-territory deal was concluded with Entertainment One (eOne), which includes France, Scandinavia, Benelux and South Africa. The deal was negotiated by Poonam Sahota on behalf of eOne and Nicola Goelzhaeuser, Head of International Sales for MPI Media
Group and Nate Bolotin of XYZ Films. Australian rights for Frankenstein’s Army were sold to Madman (negotiated with Paul Wiegard, Managing Director) - distribution rights in Japan were sold to Transformer, in Germany to Ascot Elite, while Canada and the UK are also with eOne.
Filmed in Prague and recently having its World Premiere at the Rotterdam International Film Festival, FRANKENSTEIN’S ARMY marks the feature debut of Dutch director Richard Raaphorst, and has already received high critical acclaim.
FRANKENSTEIN’S ARMY is the latest addition to MPI/Dark Sky Films acclaimed original high-end genre productions. The Company was also behind highly praised genre films such as Ti West’s The Innkeepers and The House of the Devil , Adam Green’s Hatchet II and upcoming Hatchet III and also Jim Mickle’s Stake Land.
